Your Help
How can you help? Parents and Carers can play an important part in Work Experience. You may be able to help with ideas or contacts for students to arrange their own placement and you can also stress the importance of work experience to your own children.
The work placement can give students some surprising insights into the nature of work and provide them with some useful pointers for an eventual job choice or long term career.
You may find it useful to talk to your child about:
- Working with people of different ages
- The need for punctuality and teamwork
- How you might view their organisation as a customer or user
- Any difficulties they may be having day to day at work.
Please also encourage them to fill in their Student Diary either online or using the Student Diary booklet. There is a form for you to let us know what you think - What Do Your Parents Think?
